New Delhi: It is a summer of discontent in the National Capital, yet again! The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) is taking special measures, but the same old water crisis is back to leave the city high and dry.
But interestingly there is a place in Delhi which has not faced water crisis for four centuries.
The Fatehpuri mosque, built by the Mughals in 17-century stands proudly in the Chandi Chowk of the capital city. The mosque has a well in its courtyard, which has been quenching the thirst of people since the mosque has been standing there. Nothing much has changed here except the water is collected from the well through a motor.
The well is said to have never dried up or water in the well ever been contaminated. The source of water in the well is reportedly unknown.
Not only the visitors to the mosque but also the people from the neighbourhood prefer water from the well as it tastes good.
