Shahdol: As voting is underway for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh, a 100-year-old man visited the polling booth in Aitajhar village of Shahdol district to exercise his franchise. The centenarian, Jagdish Prasad Srivastava, was elated after casting the vote.
Encouraging the youths to take part in the biggest festival of democracy, he said that they should definitely cast their vote as they were the future of the country. "Casting vote must be the priority for every citizen of the country," Srivastava said.
Hitting out at the politicians, he said, "Earlier the political scenario of the country was good but at present, the politicians are indulged into dirty politics."
Srivastava had served as the presiding officer in the first Lok Sabha elections held in 1952 and since then, he has been exercising his vote every year.
