Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): At least one police personnel was severely injured after a scuffle broke out between locals and cops in Lucknow's Kasaibada on Wednesday.
Heavy stone pelting was witnessed and high tension prevailed in the area after which huge security forces were deployed to bring the situation under control.
The trouble started when a team of police asked the crowd to go home but locals started arguing with the cops.
"Ramazan is near but cops did not allow us to leave our houses. We were assaulted for no reason," alleged the agitated women.
Denying the allegation, DCP East Somen Verma said,"Our team was out for patrolling. At least fifteen people were gathered and they were asked to go back home. Some of them misbehaved with the cops."

Verma went on to add, "Dispute broke out when people were told to return. One policeman was injured. Police forces have been deployed and security has been beefed up."
However, few locals reported that the incident broke out when locals were stopped by the police from taking a child to the hospital. The entire area of Kasaibada was sealed after a spike in the coronavirus cases after twelve Jamatis were caught together.
Similar scenes were seen in Aligarh where cops were attacked after they tried closing the shops in the district in which one cop was grievously injured.
