Palamu: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader is killed on Saturday by Naxals in Jharkhand's Palamu district.
BJP leader Mohan Gupta was shot dead in Pipra police station limits of Jharkhand's Palamu by Naxals.
According to villagers, eight to ten rounds were fired from the AK-47 rifle, after which Gupta died on the spot.
Gupta, husband of the village head of Pipra village, was allegedly in a target of Naxalites for years as 2012 also Maoists tried to attack him.
According to information, Mohan Gupta was in the Pipra market late Saturday when Maoists attacked him.
Earlier on Friday, three Jharkhand police personnel were killed in a Maoist attack in the Jharkhand's Latehar district.
The attack by armed Maoists occurred at about 8:30 pm when a police party was on-board an official four-wheeled vehicle in the Chandwa police station area.
Three police personnel, including a Sub-Inspector rank official, have been killed while one has been injured.
Some home guard personnel are also reported to be on the casualty list.
