Bhartiya Tribal party withdraws support for Gehlot government

Dungrupur: The Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) on Wednesday withdrew support for the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan. The announcement was done by BTP party chief Chotubhai Vasava during a press conference.

BTP ended its alliance with Congress after the latter faced defeat in the Panchayat Raj elections. The two BTP MLAs accused the Congress of not supporting them during the local polls.

BTP's two MLAs had extended support to the Congress government when former deputy CM Sachin Pilot rebelled against CM Ashok Gehlot and the state witnessed a political crisis.

BTP has been supporting the Ashok-Gehlot government since 2018.
