Patna: Patna Police have detained Plurals Party president Pushpam Priya Chaudhary on Tuesday when she was going with her party members to meet the governor.
According to sources, Patna police stopped Chaudhary and her party workers when they were heading towards the Raj Bhawan without permission letter on Tuesday evening.
Following this, Chaudhary sat on the road and a lot of people gathered there.
Speaking to media persons, Chaudhary said, "Bihar assembly elections should be conducted under President's rule and I was going to meet the Governor to demand the same but the police personnel here stopped me."
"Earlier, RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav also met the Governor regarding the election issue but in that time I did not see any police personnel stopping him. And now everyone could see what is happening to me and my party people. My party worker has been abused and beaten at the DM office. As a citizen, I can go to Raj Bhawan and I will request the governor to intervene into the matter," she said.
However, the reaction from police regarding this matter is yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, police personnel arrested Pushpam Priya Chaudhary amidst heavy security.
Notably, Plurals Party is going to Contest on all 243 Seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections, 2020.
The Party has been registered by the election commission of India on 13th October 2020. The nominations of 28 candidates out of 61 nominations filed for the first phase of assembly elections have been declared invalid by the election commission.
