Wreath laying ceremony for BSF soldier held in Srinagar

A wreath-laying ceremony was held for SI (GD) Rakesh Dobhal, who was killed in firing by Pakistan on Friday. Later, the mortal remains of Dobhal will be flown to his native place.

Humhama (Srinagar): Kashmir Frontier BSF held a wreath-laying ceremony for their fallen hero, SI (GD) Rakesh Dobhal of 1011 BSF Artillery Regiment on 15 November , who made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on Friday.

In a very solemn ceremony at HQs Kashmir Frontier BSF, Humhama, Dr Rajesh Mishra, IPS, Inspector General Kashmir Frontier BSF led in paying floral tributes. BSF Officers, Subordinate Officers and Others Ranks of Kashmir Frontier and dignitaries from other Forces and Civil administration also paid homage to the departed braveheart.

On 13th November, Pakistan started unprovoked ceasefire violation on LoC, using the Artillery, Mortars and other weapons targeting even the civilian areas deliberately. Rakesh Dobhal immediately reacted to the call of duty for retaliation and brought effective fire on enemy thus causing great damage to the enemy in Naugam Sector. At about 1315 hrs, while he was fighting bravely, he was hit by enemy fire.

He was immediately evacuated but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries en route hospital.

Late Rakesh Dobhal of 1011 BSF Artillery Regiment had joined BSF in January 2004 and was holding the present rank since August 2013. He is survived by his parents, wife and a daughter who live in district Dehradun, Uttrakhand.

Mortal remains of Late Rakesh Dobhal will be flown to his native place after paying tributes at Humhama, Kashmir today.

BSF family salutes its brave member and is indebted for his sacrifice for the Nation.
