"We want population control law to be implemented as it is the need of the hour. Controlling the rapidly growing population is very important. Maintaining a balance between the resources and population is crucial for all of us," Singh said. Talking about Private Members' Bill, he said that while introducing this bill in Parliament, he will discuss promoting family planning under the provision of strict law.

"I would not say that those who have more than two children, should be put in jail or should get severe punishment, I am not talking about it at all. All I want to say is that there should be a provision where people following the population control law must get special privileges. And those who do not follow it, should be deprived of government schemes," he added.
