New Delhi: As schools in the national capital started reopening on Wednesday, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia took to Twitter this morning saying that he is glad that the schools are reopening and that all arrangements have been made. The Department of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) had granted permission to open schools for students of classes 9th to 12th today and for the students of classes 6 to 8 from September 8. The decision has been taken by the administration in lieu of the decline in Covid19 cases.

Deputy CM Sisodia tweeted, "Resolution on the preparation of Delhi's Team Education school to open. We are ready…. Yes! we are ready to overcome obstacles, To make history new, to be the pride of the country Yes! We are ready - Team Education, Delhi."

At present, the government has allowed only 50 per cent of the students to attend classes and school managements have been instructed to set up quarantine centres on campuses so that emergency cases can be easily dealt with. Sisodia also made it clear saying that no student would be forced to attend classes and that consent of parents will be mandatory.

It is after the first wave of COVID-19, that schools were closed in March 2019. Later, though classes for 9 to 12 in Delhi were reopened on February 5, 2021, they were again shut on April 9 following the second wave of COVID-19.
