Namakkal (Tamilnadu): Not all robbery attempts are successful like as seen in Hollywood films, while some end up being disastrous. One such botched ATM robbery attempt took place on Friday night at an ATM centre in Aniyapuram of Tamil Nadu in Namakkal district. The issue came to light after some residents in the locality informed police about unusual noises being heard from inside the private ATM centre.
Following the information, Namakkal Police on having reached the ATM centre were shocked to find the thief stuck inside the ATM machine installation slot near the wall. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was identified as Upendra Rai, a native of Bihar, working in a private fodder firm. The police patrol party also recorded the video of the man climbing out rom the ATM slot. According to the police, the ATM machine had cash to the tune of Rs 2.65 lakh and all of it was accounted for and the man was produced before a Court which remanded him to judicial custody.

However, the video of the man trying to free himself from the ATM machine has trickled out into social media leaving netizens in splits.
