Champawat: 12 Indo-Tibetian Border Police (ITBP) personnel were injured in a road accident at Tanakpur Pithoragarh highway in Uttarakhand's Champawat on Thursday. The ITBP bus narrowly escaped a fall into a deep gorge leaving the soldiers on board with minor injuries.
According to sources, while moving on the National Highway, the bus went out of control and got stuck between the trees growing between two loops of the highway on the slope of the hill. On being informed, the police administration teams reached the spot and with the help of the locals, the jawans were pulled out of the ditch. The soldiers suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Sources said that the injured jawans were admitted to the government hospital in Chalthi for their treatment. The bus was reportedly going to Jajar Deval of Pithoragarh.
