Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government has amended the rules to improve cleanliness and hygiene from big cities to small towns in Uttar Pradesh. Now a provision has been made for imposing heavy fines on those who spread garbage in public places.

Apart from coughing up fines ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 3,000, people will also have to pay a fee for picking up the garbage. Apart from this, it has now been made mandatory to keep the garbage coming out of the homes or commercial establishments in three different dustbins - organic, inorganic and hazard waste. After doing any event or function, the organisers will have to clean up the place. There will also be a ban on throwing garbage in the drains. Besides this, all building owners will have to make their own arrangements for collection of garbage.
