UP agri minister sets example by growing organic vegetables at home

Uttar Pradesh minister Shriram Chauhan has started organic farming at his official residence where has grown various vegetables. The minister has also cultivated a special potato which he claims to be sugar-free.

Lucknow: Following his passion for organic farming, Uttar Pradesh's independent minister for agriculture Shriram Chauhan has created an organic garden at his residence.

The minister has grown different varieties of vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, tomato, garlic, spinach and reddish without using fertilizers or pesticides.

In an exclusive interview to ETV Bharat, the minister said, "I have cultivated special potato which is completely sugar-free. These special potatoes can be produced at a faster rate as compared to normal ones. If the results of my farming are fruitful, then these agricultural products will be sold to progressive farmers."

Uttar Pradesh minister has also planted various varieties of flowers and has also deployed policemen and guards to look after the farm.
