Chamrajnagar: Two of the three tiger cubs found in poor condition have died reportedly of starvation after they were found at the Nugu Wildlife Sanctuary of Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Karnataka.
The cubs were taken to the Mysore zoo for treatment by the forest department officials. One of them died on the way and another died without responding to treatment.

The third cub, a male, is kept under the observation of Assistant forest officer K Paramesh.
The post mortem reports confirmed that the cubs died of hunger and efforts are underway to search for their mother. The forest officials found footprints of a tigress at the same spot where the three cubs were found.

Project director SR Natesh said a combing operation has been launched with camera traps installed around the area to search for the tigress.
