Agartala (Tripura): In what seems to be a concerted effort to promote Tripura’s pineapple and also to strengthen the trans-border ties between Bangladesh and Tripura, the Tripura government has sent a consignment of Queen variety pineapple for Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as a goodwill gesture in response to the latter’s gift of sweet mangoes. Bangladesh is a crucial market for Tripura products and due to the long-standing camaraderie between both regions, both countries are keen to promote trans-border trade through the Indo-Bangla borders of Tripura.
