1. Goa's 90 pc population given one dose of COVID-19 vaccine says CM Pramod Sawant

Goa has become the first state in the country to give one dose of COVID-19 vaccine to 90 per cent of its eligible population, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant claimed in his Independence Day address here on Sunday.  

2. '83' producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri announces first movie under patriotic film franchise 'Azad Hind'

On the occasion of India's 75th Independence Day, Vishnu Vardhan Induri-the producer of Ranveer Singh's '83' and Kangana Ranaut's 'Thalaivi' announced the first film on the life story of freedom fighter Veerangana Durgawati Devi under his new franchise of patriotic films title 'Azad Hind'.  

3. Pakistan: 13 killed, several injured in Karachi grenade attack

A total of 13 people were killed and several others got suffered injuries in a grenade attack in Karachi, Pakistan on Saturday. The attack took place near Baldia Town's Mawach Goth area at around 9:30 pm, Geo News reported.  

4. PM Modi announces Rs 100 lakh crore 'Gati Shakti' scheme for infra development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced the Prime Minister Gati Shakti scheme aimed at giving a foundation for holistic infrastructure and an integrated pathway to the economy. The Prime Minister said that the new initiative worth Rs 100 lakh crore will bring employment opportunities to the youth and the government is set to present the 'National Master Plan' of the scheme in near future.

5. BJP MLA's car attacked in UP's Muzaffarnagar

A BJP MLA's car was attacked in Muzaffarnagar, allegedly by people protesting against the farm laws. Umesh Malik, the MLA from Budhana assembly segment, was attending an event in Sisauli village on Saturday, mud and black paint was thrown at his car.

1. 'Sabka Prayaas' crucial for 100% India goal: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Independence Day address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort, gave a new motto of 'Sabka Prayaas' besides 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ to achieve a 100% India goal.

2. Taliban captures Jalalabad, inches further closer to Kabul

The Taliban has taken control of another big city, Jalalabad, the capital of the Nangarhar province, local media reported on Sunday. A former senior advisor of the embattled Afghan government has confirmed this.  

3. Fire breaks out in Delhi hotel; 2 dead

At least two people were confirmed dead in a fire that broke out at a hotel in Delhi's Dwarka. The two bodies were recovered.

4. Several feared drowned in Ganga as boat comes in contact with power line

A boat carrying at least 200 people from Kachi Dargah Ghat to Raghopur came in contact with 33,000 KV power line in the Ganges, which led to some passengers collapse on the boat and others fall into the river. Several people may have been washed away by the strong currents, it is suspected.

5. COVID-19: India reports 36K fresh cases; 493 deaths

India reported 36,083 fresh COVID19 cases in the last 24 hours, a bulletin from the Union Health Ministry stated at 8 am on Sunday. In the same duration, the country saw 37,927 recoveries and 493 deaths.
