In a handbook titled 'dealing with mental health issues in prisoners during Covid-19', the NIMHANS has suggested that there should be a mechanism available within the prison to identity prisoners having mental health issues and to facilitate prisoners with psychological issues to approach concerned authorities for arranging referral and support.

1) Goa-bound Rajdhani Express derails in Maharashtra

The Hazrat Nizamuddin Madgaon Rajdhani Express that travels from Delhi to Goa, reportedly derailed in a tunnel at Maharashtra's Ratnagiri at 4:15 AM on Saturday morning. According to sources, the train derailed inside the Karbude tunnel near Ratnagiri, between Ukshi and Bhoke which is around 325 km from Mumbai.

2) Pak calls PM Modi's meeting with J&K political leaders as 'PR exercise'

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday described Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with top political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir as a "drama" and a "PR exercise". Modi held talks with top political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday and told them that the Centre's priority is to strengthen grassroots democracy there for which delimitation has to happen quickly for polls to be held.

3) Indore, Surat win the Smart City Award, UP wins state award

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on Friday announced the results of the India Smart Cities Competition (ISAC) 2020 in an online program on the sixth anniversary of Smart Cities Mission (SCM), AMRUT and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban. Indore and Surat got the award jointly in the urban category, while Uttar Pradesh won the state award.

4) President Kovind urges people to take care of country's resources

President Ram Nath Kovind along with his wife Savita Devi Kovind travelled in a special train from Delhi to his native village in Uttar Pradesh' Kanpur. It was after a gap of 15 years that an incumbent president travelled by train. This is also the first time that President Kovind visited his birthplace after becoming the president.

Intelligence agencies have alerted Delhi police and other agencies that Pakistan-based ISI proxies may sabotage the proposed farmers' protest, according to official sources on late Friday evening. As per the official sources, intelligence agencies have alerted Delhi police and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) that Pakistan-based Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) proxies may wreck the proposed farmers' protest on June 26 by instigating the deployed security forces.

4) Post-Covid complications: First ANEC case reported in Karnataka

A case of Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy of Childhood (ANEC) has been reported from Karnataka's Davanagere district, which is the first in the state and second in the country. This viral disease has been identified in a 13-yr old patient by doctors of SS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre

5) Indonesia's doctors becoming patients after administration of China's Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine

Facing increased COVID-19 infections and a deadly variant, Indonesia's doctors are at the centre of the crisis as many have died after being vaccinated by the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine - Sinovac. On Thursday, the country recorded more than 20,000 cases of COVID-19, the highest number since the pandemic began. Oxygen is again running out at hospitals in Jakarta, the country's capital and the national percentage of positive COVID tests reached 14.6 per cent this past week, media reported.
