1. Darbhanga train blast case may be transferred to NIA

The Bihar Home Department is expected to transfer the June 17 Darbhanga train blast case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), a source said on Thursday. The incident at the Darbhanga railway station occurred when a packet containing chemicals exploded soon after it was taken away from the parcel compartment of a train arriving from Secunderabad.

2. Kashmir is an internal matter for India, MEA tells Pakistan

India on Thursday stated that it desires normal relations with Pakistan but also emphasised that Islamabad must work towards creating a conducive environment. Addressing a virtual press briefing here today, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, "Kashmir is an internal matter for India. Regarding the bilateral aspect, we desire normal relations with all our neighbours, including Pakistan."

3. Continuous reforms make India great place to do business: Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday participated in the Global Investors Roundtable organized by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) through video conferencing which witnessed participation from some of the largest foreign investors, including Mastercard, MetLife, Prudential, Air Products, Dell, SoftBank and Warburg Pincus amongst others.

4. Congress to protest against rising inflation from July 7

Congress party is all set to corner the Government on issues like the Covid-19 crisis and rising inflation by launching a series of protests between July 7 and July 17. The decision was being taken during a meeting of Pradesh Congress Committee Chiefs, General Secretaries and state incharges, called by Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday to discuss various issues of the country.

5. Judge keeps India terror attack suspect in US custody

A former Chicago businessman will remain in the United States as a federal judge in  Los Angeles weighs whether he will be extradited to India for his alleged role in the  2008 Mumbai terror attack that killed more than 160 people. Tahawwur Rana (tuh- HOW'-ur RAH'-nah), a Pakistani-born Canadian, is wanted by Indian authorities for his  alleged involvement in the deadly attacks that are sometimes referred to as India's  9/11. An Indian warrant for his arrest was issued in August 2018.
