Hundreds of farmers from Haryana protesting against the three central farm laws. As a preventive step, Haryana has imposed Section 144 of the CrPC to prevent assembly of protesters. Also, the police had taken nearly 100 farmer leaders from the state into "preventive custody".

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami visited the Chembarambakkam Lake to review the situation. Earlier, shutters of the Chembarambakkam Lake were opened to release water into Adyar River, in order to avert flooding ahead of Cyclone Nivar's scheduled landfall.
