Mumbai: Three executive directors at India's Oil and Natural Gas Corporation or ONGC have been suspended in connection with the chain of incidents at the Bombay High oil field in the Arabian Sea when it was hit by Cyclone Taukate, reports said.
It has been clarified that the three directors will remain suspended till the completion of the inquiry.
The decision was taken after a meeting of a committee set up by the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in Delhi. The three directors are responsible for ONGC's drilling and security.
Preliminary inquiries so far have revealed that cyclone warnings were ignored.
