Taliban kills Amrullah Saleh's brother: Reports

The Taliban have tortured and executed Rohullah Azizi, the brother of the self-proclaimed President of Afghanistan, Amrullah Saleh. Amrullah Saleh, the former Vice President of Afghanistan, is one of the leaders of the National Resistance Front along with Ahmad Massoud. The reported killing of his brother came in the wake of the Taliban storming the provincial centre of Panjshir Valley.

New Delhi: The Taliban have tortured and executed Rohullah Azizi, the brother of the self-proclaimed President of Afghanistan, Amrullah Saleh, various reports said on Friday.

Saleh, the former Vice President of Afghanistan, is one of the leaders of the National Resistance Front along with Ahmad Massoud. The reported killing of his brother came in the wake of the Taliban storming the provincial centre of Panjshir Valley.

The family members of Rohullah Azizi has also alleged that the Taliban is not allowing them to give a proper burial in accordance with Islam. Media reports quoted some family members saying the Taliban want the body to rot in the open.

Meanwhile, the whereabouts of Amrullah Saleh and Ahmad Massoud is unknown. The NRF has promised to continue the fight against the Taliban.
