Hyderabad: Amid reports of the Taliban having taken over two major cities of Kandahar and Herat, speculations are rife that veteran warlord and ex-Herat Governor Ismail Khan has been detained by outfit. According to reports, some other officials of the Kabul administration have also been detained along with two choppers. Meanwhile, President Ghani is expected to brief about the ongoing situation either on Friday or Saturday.

The scale of violence in the country, due to Taliban fighters, is terribly deteriorating as the terror group has been looting people and killing civilians after capturing multiple areas from the government. Taliban forces have already captured cities like Sar-e-Pol, Sheberghan, Aybak, Kunduz, Taluqan, Pul-e-Khumri, Farah, Zaranj, Faizabad and most recently Ghazni. As a result, the Afghan government has offered to share power with the hardened terror outfit. The government's offer comes in the wake of the Taliban adding provinces and cities to its kitty in a ruthless manner. If experts are to be believed the day is not far when they will conquer Kabul.
