Oxygen shortage continues to hit Covid patients in UP

Oxygen cylinders are given only to those who produce Covid positive report with the doctor's prescription.

Muzaffarnagar: Oxygen shortage for Covid patients continue in Uttar Pradesh. While patients gasp for oxygen, their relatives are running around to get oxygen cylinders. People have been standing in long queues in Muzaffarnagar to get life-saving oxygen for their dear ones.

Despite strenuous efforts, several relatives have left empty-handed. Tension has been mounting at every oxygen agency in the area.

Oxygen cylinders are given only to those who produce Covid positive report of their relative along with the doctor's prescription. People from Ghaziabad are also coming to get cylinders further adding up to the demand. Along with shortage of oxygen cylinders, higher demand for oxygen cylinders have led to chaos, said employee of Rama oxygen gas agency.

Covid-19 cases continue to surge in the area further aggravating the issue. It is said that the district administration has ramped up efforts to curb the surge.
