Siliguri (West Bengal): Rokkam Tarakeshwara Rao - An SSB jawan from Chowdarikottur in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh committed suicide in Siliguri district of West Bengal. A gun shot was heard at the Naxalbari checkpost, other jawans rushed to the spot. The officials found that that the SSB jawan had shot himself with a light machine gun, and was lying in a pool of blood. SI Ravikumar reached the victim's village and informed his family members about his death.
The villagers said that Tarakeshwara Rao had been ill for many days. Regarding his health issue, he spoke to some people and was sad and gloomy on Sunday.
While the deceased's father Prabhakara Rao was in the village, his mother Jayalakshmi had recently gone to her daughter's place in Rajahmundry. Jawan's wife Lakshmi Prasanna lives with her daughter Shivani in Kashinagar of Orissa at her parent's house.
