Sonipat: Notorious gangster Dharmendra wanted in loot cases and carrying a bounty of Rs 25,000 on his head was arrested by the Sonipat Special Task Force (STF) on Monday from Jharkhand's Chaulibasa village. The accused was on the run for the last 17 years after he was out on parole.
The accused had fled to Jharkhand in 2004 and was running a small hotel 'Punjab Haryana' in Chaulibasa near highway. To conceal his real identity, the accused got his name changed to 'Rajesh' and worked as a truck helper.

STF officer Satish Deshwala said, "Three miscreants looted the owner of Haryana Agro Service centre petrol pump in the year 2000 and decamped with Rs 62,000. Dharmendra, who was one of the accused, was sent to jail for 20 years. He was absconding after being released from Ganaur prison on parole in 2004."

The accused will be produced in court.
