New Delhi: Investigating agencies on Saturday apprehended a man who appeared as a proxy candidate in an examination held by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) at Swaroop Nagar neat GT Karnal road. The proxy candidate Sikander Kumar was appearing in the exam on behalf of another student.
Further inquiries revealed that Sikander Kumar is a resident of Bihar and police also seized admit card and other examination-related documents from him.
SSC exams are being held to induct 6,000 new police officers into the State police department. A total of 28,00,000 lakh students are appearing for SSC exams which will end on December 16th.

Despite tight security arrangements in the examination centres, Delhi Police has so far caught dozens of candidates in alleged cases of cheating and forgery. Cases of cheating, fraud, candidates appearing as 'proxy' were detected in Delhi, Noida and Haldwani.
The exam administration has also set up CCTV at online exam centres and the entire examination procedure is also recorded. Furthermore, the procedures are live-streamed. Police say the exam candidates are thoroughly checked at the entry points.
