Monali had also served as the coach of the Indian shooters' team. Under her guidance, the Indian players fared well in Commonwealth Games. She also coached the World Cup team. Several amateur shooters trained by Monali made a mark in national and international shooting competitions. Many of these were students of her training academy in Nashik. She had also worked as the coach of the Sri Lankan team, which did well in international events.
Monali launched her career in shooting under the guidance of sports psychiatrist Bhishmaraj Bam. While playing, she realized that there was a dearth of good coaches to nurture young talents. Therefore, she switched over to training students who went on to excel in national and international events.
