New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Muzaffarpur Ajay Nishad on Wednesday said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured regarding the representation of 'Nishad-community' in Bihar assembly.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Nishad said that in the recently concluded Bihar assembly elections, BJP did not give the ticket to any person belonging to 'Nishad-community.'
"I met Union Home Minister Amit Shah ji and he assured me that at least one person from the 'Nishad-community' will definitely be sent to Bihar legislative council," he said.
He further said that in the assembly elections of 2015, two persons from 'Nishad-community' were given the tickets but this time none.
"I thank Amit Shah ji for taking the matter seriously as the representation of 'Nishd-community' in the assembly will send a good message to our society," he added.
