4 dead, 12 hurt as truck rams into bus in Rajasthan

At least four persons were killed and over 12 injured in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar as a truck and bus collided on the national highway close to Anupgarh town late on Sunday night. Both the vehicles burst into flames following the freak mishap.

Sri Ganganagar: At least four persons were killed and over 12 injured in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar as a truck and bus collided on the national highway close to Anupgarh town late on Sunday night. Both the vehicles burst into flames following the freak mishap. It was the locals who informed the police about the major accident.

According to the police, four people were charred in the blaze, while over 12 people have been injured in the incident. It is also to be ascertained as to how many people were on the bus, police said, adding that the deceased include the truck driver and three bus passengers.

As per reports, the bus was on its way from Sri Ganganagar district headquarters to Mohangarh, when an oil tanker coming from the opposite side collided head-on with the bus. After a few minutes, there was a huge explosion and the vehicles burst into flames.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Jaidev Sihag, Municipal Executive Officer Sandeep Bishnoi reached the spot along with a fire brigade and began dousing the flames. A team from the Border Security Personnel also joined to extinguish the fire.
