SEBA to conduct board examinations in Assam from May 11

Amidst a surge in coronavirus cases, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), has decided to conduct the Assam High School Leaving Certificate Examination and Assam High Madrassa Examination from May 11 to June 3.

Guwahati: Amidst a surge in coronavirus cases, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), has decided to conduct the Assam High School Leaving Certificate Examination and Assam High Madrassa Examination from May 11 to June 3.

SEBA's move comes at a time when the CBSE has decided to cancel Class 10 examinations besides postponing Class 12 examinations due to a surge in coronavirus cases. SEBA said it will conduct the examinations following COVID-19 guidelines.

As per the guidelines issued by SEBA, the students will have to abide by the seating plan the board has designed. Teachers, including invigilators, are required to take COVID-19 vaccine. A separate room will be arranged for COVID-19 infected students.

SEBA said it will provide masks and sanitisers to each student at the examination centre. The board has earmarked Rs 1 crore for procuring masks and sanitisers.
