The bench comprising of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice Dinesh Maheshwari was hearing a batch of pleas filed by the Union of India against the High Court orders wherein it had ruled in favour of the government employees regarding pay up-gradation and promotion.

In one of the cases, judges questioned the advocate appearing for the government, that why have they dragged a matter for certain benefits when the person has served them for years.

The court observed that there must be an end to the litigation, it can not just go on and on.
