New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to senior SP leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Khan in a criminal case, and directed that they be released on bail after the trial court concerned in Uttar Pradesh recorded the former's statement in the case.
Azam Khan, a member of Parliament from Uttar Pradesh's Rampur, had been lodged in Sitapur jail since February 2020 with more than a hundred cases registered against him. Cases against Azam Khan are related to land grabbing, encroachment, forgery including others.

Earlier, the Allahabad High court had dismissed the bail petition of Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan.
