Koppal(Karnataka): Paddy ferried on a tractor-trolley was washed away after the tractor tried to negotiate strong water currents across a river. A farmer from Kavali Thanda in Karnataka had grown paddy on the banks of the Tungabhadra river. However, while trying to transport the harvest across Tungabhadra, the trolley carrying it overturned, washing away the produce.
The farmer had finished harvesting his paddy and planned to move it on two tractors. One tractor reached safely while another got stuck in the river. The second tractor's trolley overturned resulting in a loss worth nearly Rs 70,000.
