Kochi: Popular Kerala cartoonist C J Yesudasan passed away early on Wednesday due to post-COVID complications. He was 83.
Yesudasan's mortal remains will be kept at the municipal town hall in Kalamassery on Thursday morning to let people pay their respects to him. His funeral will be held at a church in Kochi.
Yesudasan began his career in a local magazine in 1955. In his six-decade-long career, he worked with various newspapers and magazines as a political cartoonist.

He was the founding chairman of the Kerala Cartoon Academy. He also served as the president of the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi.
Yesudasan was born on June 12, 1938 as the son of Chakalethu John Mathayi and Mariyamma at Bharanikavu in Mavelikkara. He did his schooling in Bharanikavu and Mavelikkara. Later, he took a degree in BSc Mathematics from the Catholicate College at Pathanamthitta.
