New Delhi: AirAsia India on Friday said it has processed refunds for 99% of tickets for flights cancelled during the two-month flight ban due to the Coronavirus pandemic-induced lockdown.
"...AirAsia India has processed refunds for 99% of the over 2,40,000 PNRs impacted due to flights cancelled during the COVID-19 lockdown from March 25 to May 24, 2020," chief commercial officer of AirAsia India Ankur Garg said.
"All refunds have been processed to the original source of booking - the guest's account or credit card for direct bookings, or returned to the online or offline travel agent for bookings made through intermediaries," he added.

Notably, IndiGo airline has also processed close to Rs 1,030 crore of refunds, which amounts to about 99.95% of the total amount owed to its customers.
In September 2020, the Supreme Court had directed airlines to immediately refund fares booked for travel until May 24, 2020. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had on April 16 also ordered the airlines to immediately refund tickets booked during the first phase of lockdown from March 25 to April 14.
"For the remaining 1% of guests whom we have reached out to repeatedly through email and SMS on the contact details registered with us during their original booking, we are still awaiting certain details so that we can process their refunds," an AirAsia official said.
