Mansarovar: A woman, who was the sister of a Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) officer, died at a hospital on Monday, police said. The victim was found unconscious with her hands and legs tied in Mansarovar area in her house located in Sector 23.
Vidya Chaturvedi, aged around 55, was the sister of a RAS officer posted as a sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) in Jaipur. Chaturvedi, a teacher by profession, is survived by her two children who stay in Bhopal.
Locals raised an alarm after Vidya did not open the door despite repeated calls as she did not pick up the call of one of her associates. The neighbours said that the victim was seen at 6.30 am in the morning when she stepped out of the house to get milk.
"When she did not open the door, we checked her house and were shocked to see her hands and legs tied. We immediately informed the police, " one of the neighbours said.

“The matter came to light when her family members reached the house in the morning. She was lying unconscious with her hands and legs tied. She was rushed to a nearby private hospital where she died,” police said.
South DCP Harendra Mahavar, Mansarovar ASP Sanjiv Chaudhary, senior police officers along with the dog squad team have been pressed into service to solve the case. Initial inquiry suggests that the woman was murdered after being held hostage and her body has been sent for post-mortem.
Senior police officials reached the spot and started an investigation in the case.
