New Delhi: Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 3:36 pm amid ruckus by Opposition parties. The Inland Vessels Bill was passed amid the continuous din.

Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey, Minister of Heavy Industries responded to queries on the promotion of electric vehicles and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Jal Shakti responded to questions on rehabilitation and resettlement schemes for Adivasi and Dalit families affected by the PIP (Pollavaram project). Meanwhile, Opposition MPs continued sloganeering.

The Upper House resumed was adjourned twice following ruckus by Opposition parties. Elamaram Kareem, V Sivadasan and Binoy Viswam (Left MPs), Ramgopal Yadav of Samajwadi Party, Sanjay Singh (AAP), Mallikarjun Kharge, Pratap Singh Bajwa and K C Venugopal (all Congress), Sukhendu Sekhar Roy (TMC) have given a suspension of Business notice under Rule 267 demanding discussion on Pegasus snooping row.

During the beginning, the House lauded shuttler P V Sindhu for bagging bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics. Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu said he is willing to consider a discussion on farmers' problems if there is no disruption. "I am ready to discuss. Even Business Advisory Committee has decided to hear about the farmers' problems and also about other problems, provided if the House is in order," said Naidu. He also ordered the publishing of names of the MPs who held placards.

Opposition parties have been pressing on Pegasus row, farm laws, Covid crisis since the commencement of the Monsoon Session. Four Bills were passed in the Upper House amid ruckus by Opposition. Those were passed through voice vote, without discussion. The Factoring Amendment Bill, Marine Aids to Navigation Bill, Juvenile Justice Amendment Bill, Coconut Development Board Bill were among the four.

Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice on Friday at 12 pm and 2:30 pm. The session commenced on July 19 and is scheduled to end on August 13. 27 Bills are to be taken up for consideration and passing.
