Ministry of Railways releases new version of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara

Minister of State for Railways and Textiles dedicates new version of the ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’ song to the Nation prepared and sung by the employees of Railway

New Delhi: Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh on Friday dedicated a new version of the ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’ song to the Nation through video conferencing.

The song which has been exclusively sung by the railway employees features various railway employees, renowned railway sportspersons, Tokyo Olympic medalists, renowned personalities besides Minister of Railways and Minister of State for Railways.

The song ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumahara’ was telecasted for the first time on Independence Day 1988.

Lyrics of the original song have been retained as it is but music has been rendered in a new version. The song has been sung in 13 different languages so as to provide a feeling of camaraderie throughout all Zonal Railways.

The song is part of the initiatives being undertaken by the Ministry of Railways to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence- Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and to showcase Indian Railways’ achievements, developments and integration on an India basis.

Speaking on the occasion, Jardosh said, “As a part of Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, this song represents Unity in Diversity. The new version of the song would not only motivate the Railway employees but also the entire Nation. It will also inspire future generations.”

During the event, Chairman & CEO of Railway Board Suneet Sharma and several senior railway officers were also present.
