New Delhi: Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi slammed the Centre over poor vaccination strategy and not taking into account the warnings given to health professionals regarding the second Covid wave. He also said that the Opposition too had warned the government about it.
"We had warned the Government of India about COVID-19 repeatedly. Later, PM Modi had expressed India's victory against COVID19. This is an evolving disease. Lockdowns and wearing of masks is a temporary solution but vaccine is a permanent solution to COVID," said Rahul Gandhi.
He further slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating his 'nautanki' is the reason behind the deadly second wave. He also targeted India's death rate and said it is a lie and urged the Centre to tell the truth.
"The Prime Minister's 'nautanki' is the reason behind the second wave of COVID-19 in India. He did not understand COVID19. India's death rate is a lie. The government should tell the truth," added Rahul.

Regarding vaccination, Rahul Gandhi said merely 3% of the population are inoculated while 97% of the population are left to be attacked. He hit at the government saying they do not understand the nature of what they are fighting.
"Government do not understand the nature of what they are fighting. Understand the dangers of mutation of this virus. You are creating a liability for the whole planet. Why? Because you are allowing 97% of the population to be attacked by the virus as only 3% are vaccinated," Rahul Gandhi asked.
Rahul Gandhi also raised speculation whether deaths in Congress ruled states are wrongly reported. He asked the Centre to stick to actual number of deaths.

"Spoke to CMs of Congress-ruled States, told them that lying will only harm them, reality needs to be accepted. Actual death numbers might be disturbing but we must stick to telling truth," said Rahul Gandhi.
Terming PM Modi to be an event manager, Rahul Gandhi said there is no vaccination strategy. "The problem is that there is no vaccination strategy. The Prime Minister doesn't think strategically. He is an event manager, he thinks one event at a time," said Rahul Gandhi.
