Chandigarh: Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi in a press conference on Wednesday said that the party is supreme and the government runs on the ideology of the party. He has also spoken with Navjot Singh Sidhu and urged him to discuss the issues. Channi added that several ministers have visited Sidhu and they will continue to sit and talk with him today and tomorrow. He said that there is no talk of harming the government and we will resolve differences through dialogue.

The CM said that decisions will be taken according to the people of Punjab and added that as long as he is the head of the state, there will be no betrayal or corruption. Along with this, Charanjit Singh Channi also made some key announcements regarding Punjab. He stated that the Punjab government will pay Rs 1200 crore electricity dues.

He said that for those whose electricity connections are disconnected due to non payment of bill, their connection will be restored. The government will also bear the Rs 1500 fee for re-connection. He also added that for those who are not able to pay electricity bills, the government will provide electricity to them. Punjab CM said that 55 lakh families take a load of 100 kilowatts and are defaulters. The government will have to bear the burden of about Rs 1200 crores, he concluded.
