Lucknow: Congress's national general secretary and UP in-charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has reached the Congress headquarters at 10.20 am here in the city on the third day of her tour. Earlier on Tuesday, the Congress leader had held a meeting with the office-bearers at Sheela Kaul's residence and reportedly took stock of the party's poll preparedness in view of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
On Wednesday, Vadra will continue to hold meetings throughout the day and also meet the members of Banjara Samaj. Thereafter, she will also interact with the Youth Congress office-bearers, said Pramod Pandey, the chief organiser of the Congress Seva Dal, adding that a meeting with the Doctors Association will also be held.

Speculations are also rife that Vadra's visit to Lucknow may be extended for a week instead of three days, wherein she will tour different parts of the state. However, no official announcement has been made by the Congress party about her visit yet. Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Congress in charge had concluded her 5-day visit to the state on September 13.
The Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls are scheduled to be conducted in 2022. Around 50 leaders have already been given permission to contest the Assembly elections.
In the 2017 Assembly elections, the BJP had won a landslide victory winning 312 Assembly seats. The party secured a 39.67 per cent vote share in the elections for 403-member Assembly. Samajwadi Party bagged 47 seats, BSP won 19 while Congress could manage to win only seven seats.
