New Delhi: Jharkhand BJP MP from Palamu BD Ram said that he will be introducing the private members' bill to curb population on August 6 after the Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned for the day following a ruckus in the house over Pegasus spyware issue. Speaking exclusively with ETV Bharat, former Jharkhand DGP said that the bill is the need of the hour as people need to be made aware of the fact that the resources are limited while the population continues to grow.

"A massive problem awaits us if a balance is not maintained between the resources and the rising population," he said. Children will be devoid of basic facilities, their all-around development will also be hampered in large families, he added. "Having a small family with two kids will help them in getting a better future and people should be made aware of it," BD Ram said. Talking about his bill, he said that provision has been made where children above 15 years of age must be educated about the need for population control.
