Thiruvananthapuram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Kerala today would intervene and settle the tiffs in the Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) state unit. PM Modi's visit ahead of the Assembly polls is keenly watched over and it is informed that his visit is to resolve the rift between state leaders.

The allegations and complaints raised by BJP national executive committee member Shobha Surendran and a few others against BJP state president K Surendran and Union Minister V Muraleedharan widened the rift, despite BJP national president’s intervention.

Shobha Surendran had earlier reached Delhi and met PM Modi to inform him about the problems in the state unit. Talking to media persons in Delhi, Shobha Surendran said, she has been assured that the PM would intervene to resolve the issues.

National BJP leader J P Nadda who had reached Kerala to evaluate and review the election preparations in the state, last week, had discussed the issue with Shobha Surendran and K Surendran, besides other leaders. However, the problems remained unsettled.

Muralidharan - Surendran duo and their supporters were planning to neglect Shobha and move ahead. Amidst all these, the Union Cabinet may be expanded by including more leaders from the four States where the Assembly elections are ensuing. One of the senior leaders, Kummanam Rajashekharan, P K Krishnadas, P S Sreedharan Pillai, may be selected to the Union Cabinet.

Other poll-bound states - Tamil Nadu, Assam and West Bengal - are expected to get representatives to the Central Cabinet.
