Giridih: Prime Minister Narendra Modi conferred upon Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha award to Gram Panchayat chief Indu Devi for her developmental works. Devi, who is a resident of Kapilo panchayat of Jharkhand's Girdih, found mention in the programme on the day of distribution of e-property cards under the ''SWAMITVA'' scheme on National Panchayati Raj Day, bringing laurels to her village.
Indu Devi has been awarded the same honor in the past four times for the welfare and developmental works done by her in her Panchayat. From Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to the sanitation campaign, Devi has implemented various schemes to help the poor people and make their lives better.
Devi has done immense commendable work in her gram panchayat area which even metro cities couldn't do.

UNICEF chief has also toured Kapilo gram panchayat and praised the various developmental schemes saying that this initiative will prove to be a milestone.
People from different walks of life have heaped praises on Devi for her work. In 2019, she was honored with Deendayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran award and in 2020, she added another feather in her cap by when she received Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha award.

Last year when the pandemic was raging across her village, she stepped up her efforts and distributed hand-made face masks to the poor and needy.
Modi called for ensuring that the COVID-19 pandemic is stopped from spreading to villages 'by all means' and every person in rural areas is vaccinated, as he noted that the challenge before the country at present is bigger than last year.
