'Over 1 crore labourers reached home states amid lockdown'

As per the latest findings, more than one crore migrant labourers returned to their home states during the coronavirus induced lockdown. Covid-19 has resulted in the migration of a large number of workers from destination states to the home-states.

Hyderabad: According to the data received from the governments of States and Union Territories till date, nearly 1,14,30,968 people have returned to their home states amid lockdown. Uttar Pradesh has topped the list with around 32,49,638 migrant workers returning to the state while Gujarat remained at the last position with not a single person migrating from the state in search of work.
