Bhubaneswar: BH series vehicle registrations are gaining popularity in the country. Odisha has emerged as a state with the highest number of vehicles with BH registrations at 81 with capital city Bhubaneswar alone accounting for 20 such vehicles. Vehicles with BH registration can travel the country safely without the need for NOCs and re-registrations.
According to a report, 182 vehicles have been registered under the BH series across the country so far. Odisha alone accounts for about 44 per cent of the total BH registered vehicles in the country. The state has 81 vehicles registered under the BH series. Most of these vehicle registrations for the new series in Odisha are registered at RTO-1 and RTO-2 in Bhubaneswar.
As per an order issued by the State Transport Authority (STA), Odisha, the new system of allotting BH series registration will be completely online. The application along with the specified fee and taxes will be made in electronic form through the portal, https://parivahan.gov.in.

Vehicles registered under the BH series don't contain the state code, OD in Odisha's case, in their license plates. The first two numbers denote the year in which the vehicle was registered, followed by the BH inscription. The vehicle will then have a series code between A and Z after a 4-digit digital number.
Any employee of the State or Central government can apply for the facility by furnishing an official Identity Card. For the private sector, the employee of a company having offices in at least four states/UTs is eligible to avail the number.
