New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to chair an all-party meet to discuss the prevailing coronavirus crisis in the country. The RJD MP jibed that the Opposition parties "will not bang utensils" when the nation is going through such a challenging situation.
He stressed that the country has been passing through a tough situation and therefore the Prime Minister should hold a virtual meeting with the Opposition parties.
"The country is going through a tough time. So, it is high time for the Prime Minister to schedule a virtual meeting with all the Opposition parties to discuss the solution of the ongoing crisis," Jha said.

Earlier on Sunday, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh suggested the Prime Minister to "resist the temptation to look at the absolute number of vaccinations and focus on the percentage of the population vaccinated."

In a letter to Modi, the senior Congress leader also listed out suggestions for consideration "in a spirit of constructive cooperation, that included publicizing firm orders for doses placed on different vaccine producers and allowing states more flexibility to plan vaccination roll-outs."
Responding to the letter, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Monday alleged that Congress-ruled slate governments were engaged in spreading doubts regarding the efficacy of the vaccines, thereby playing with the lives of the countrymen.
The Health Minister attacked the Congress in a reply to Manmohan, saying "the history shall be kinder" to him if opinions were also shared by his party members.
Meanwhile, Health Ministry said that there are currently 19,29,329 active cases in the country as of Monday. The death toll reached 1,78,769. In the last 24 hours, as many as 1,44,178 people recovered from the virus.
