One more arrested in Kashmiri leader Wazir's murder case

The Crime Branch of the Delhi police arrested him in Jammu and will be brought to Delhi. The accused identified as Billa has revealed that he had taken Wazir as hostage for ransom, but later killed him for the fear of being caught by the police

New Delhi: The Crime Branch of the Delhi police has arrested one more accused in the murder of Kashmiri NC leader Trilochan Singh Wazir, whose highly decomposed body was found in a flat at Moti Nagar in West Delhi. He was arrested in Jammu and will be brought to Delhi.

The accused identified as Billa has revealed that he had taken Wazir as hostage for ransom, but later killed him for the fear of being caught by the police.

Rajendra, one more accused in the case, has already been arrested by the police.

As Wazir's body was found in the flat on September 9, a police investigation revealed that he had come to Delhi on September 2 and was to fly to Canada on September 3.

During his stay in Delhi, Wazir was staying in a flat that was taken on rent by one more accused, Harpreet Singh.

It also came up during the investigation that four people including Harmeet, Harpreet, Billa and Rajendra alias Raju are involved in the murder. While Raju and Billa have been arrested, Harpreet and Harmeet are at large.

The first accused arrested in the case, Rajendra Alias Raju, a driver, had revealed to the police that Wazir was given food mixed with sedatives and was shot when he was in an unconscious state.

He also revealed that the mastermind of the crime is Harpreet Singh, and he was avenging the murder of his maternal uncle. Harpreet Singh's maternal uncle was murdered in the year 1983. Harpreet felt that Trilochan had a hand in that murder. To avenge this, he along with Harmeet, Raju and his friend Billa carried out this murder.

At the time of the murder, Harpreet Singh, along with two others, Harmeet Singh and Billa, were present at Wazir's home. After the murder, They left the body there and escaped from the house separately. To escape the clutches of the police, Raju had gone to his in-laws' house in Jammu.
