New Delhi: National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) presented its annual report to President Ram Nath Kovind. A delegation of the Commission led by the Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes Vijay Sampla met the President and handed over the report of 2018-19 and 2019-20, as per press release.
It is likely that the report will be presented in the next session of the Parliament. Chairman Vijay Sampla along with vice-chairman of the commission Arun Halder, member Dr Anju Bala and Subhash Ramnath Pardhi presented the report to the president.
It's the first report submitted by the sixth commission which was constituted in February 2021 under the chairmanship of Vijay Sampla.
Annual reports of the commission have specific recommendations related to the subject matter and protection of rights, safeguards and welfare of the Scheduled Castes. According to the Constitution, “It shall be the duty of the Commission to present report annually to the President."
