Mysore gang rape case: Victim records statement before court

The victim of the Mysore gang rape case on Wednesday had recorded her statement in court after 28 days. The student was allegedly gang-raped by four to five youths near Chamundi hills in Karnataka's Mysore.

Mysore: The victim of the Mysore gang rape case has recorded her statement in court regarding the case after 28 days. The girl, a student appeared before the judge on Wednesday and filed a statement under Section 164 CRPC at the 3rd Judicial Magistrate of First Class (JFMC) District and Sessions Court in Mysore. After the victim filed her full statement, the court secured the statement in a closed envelope.

Meanwhile, all the accused in the rape case have been arrested by the Mysore police in Tamil Nadu and produced before the judge. The accused have been in police custody for 10 days and were later remanded to judicial custody.

The student, who was severely traumatized after gang rape in the Lalithadripura area of Chamundi Hill on August 24, had left Mumbai without any statement or complaint. It was on Wednesday that she appeared before the judge and filed her statement under Section 164 CRPC.

The incident had taken place last month when the girl had gone to Chamundi hills with her boyfriend. While returning from the hill, the accused youths, who were in a drunken state, stopped both of them and attacked the boy and allegedly gang-raped the girl at the Lalitadripura road near Chamundi hills.
